Shawna Wood
Trainer
Shawna Wood was born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky, where her love for education and community service took root early. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Western Kentucky University and a Master’s in Intercultural Studies from Fuller Theological Seminary, with a concentration in Children at Risk. Her master’s practicum focused on the long-term impact of HIV/AIDS orphan care in East Africa, underscoring her deep commitment to making a difference in underserved communities. Shawna’s journey has taken her to 11 countries, broadening herunderstanding of diverse cultures and communities. She has a varied teaching background, working in both rural and urban settings across the U.S. and overseas, with experience spanning at-risk children togifted students, including the children of NASA employees. Alongside her teaching, Shawna has honed skills in marketing and has successfully coached business leaders on developing relationship-building strategies to drive growth, empowering them to buildstronger professional and personal networks. As a lifelong learner, Shawna is currently the Chief Operating Officerof a faith-based nonprofit, where she applies her leadership skills tofoster growth and community development. Her work is fueled by an unwavering commitment to helping others succeed.
Justin Wood
Trainer
Justin Wood was raised in rural Barren County, Kentucky, with a strong foundation in family and faith. A collegiate athlete, he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy and History from Georgetown College, and shortly after, embarked on a global journey that led him to teach English as a Second Language and research diverse people groups. His travels across eight countries provided him with valuable cross-cultural experiences, and he became conversational in both
Spanish and Amharic.
As a childhood leukemia survivor, Justin has a personal
understanding of resilience and has turned that experience into a calling to help others. His graduate work in chaplain care at Northwind Seminary focused on Post Traumatic Growth, a framework he now uses to support individuals facing life’s adversities. In his current role as a corporate chaplain, Justin provides emotional and spiritual guidance to leaders and frontline workers, helping them grow in both their professional and personal lives.

Together, Shawna and Justin Wood have built a life deeply rooted in faith, family, and service. As the proud parents of six biological and one adopted children, and having fostered additional children, they are committed to raising their family with strong values and a broad global perspective. Shawna and Justin’s entrepreneurial spirit led them to launch and run a successful family business. Their shared experiences and passion for growth eventually led them to co-host a podcast that has resonated with listeners in 79 countries. In their podcast, they explore themes of life, faith, and personal growth, helping others navigate stress and find balance in their lives.
